It’s the festive season!
People are on holiday, unwinding, reconnecting, and celebrating.
I’m on my annual leave too, fully in that reflective, slow-down mood. And yet, in the middle of all that calm, I found myself drawn back to a project that has quietly lived in my heart for a long time - Mental health.
Over the years, I’ve designed a couple of products in this space, always driven by the same question: how can we make support feel more accessible, less intimidating, and more human?
The reality is sobering.
According to the World Health Organization, over 1 billion people globally live with mental health conditions, with anxiety and depression being the most prevalent. Despite the availability of effective treatments, most people still lack access to care due to stigma, cost, and systemic gaps. The impact on individuals, communities, and economies is enormous, costing trillions annually. https://www.who.int/news/item/02-09-2025-over-a-billion-people-living-with-mental-health-conditions-services-require-urgent-scale-up
So during this holiday break, while still enjoying my leave, I decided to burn a few extra candles and bring an idea I’ve been nurturing into the light.
I’m excited to introduce the calmdown.ai.
calmdown.ai is an application designed to support your mental and emotional needs through calm, emotionally adaptive conversations.
It supports both text and voice interactions, because sometimes typing feels like too much, and sometimes all you want is to speak and feel heard.
The goal is simple: to make support feel present, gentle, and accessible when you need it most.
You can try the app here:

Please feel free to use it, test it, and share your feedback with me. Your honest and critical feedback will be highly appreciated.
For those curious about how it’s built, you can also check out the code on GitHub:

The icing on the cake is that you can even edit and explore it directly in VS Code.
This project would not have come to life without the tools that make modern product building possible. A big thank you to the team at Lovable, especially the CEO Anton Osika, for creating a platform that empowers designers and builders to move from idea to real, functional products.
And to OpenAI, thank you for building technology that, when used responsibly, allows us to design experiences rooted in empathy rather than automation.
Sometimes the best ideas don’t come from hustle but from quiet moments of reflection. This is one of those ideas for me.
I am also tagging a few peeps that I draw inspiration from their work Kingsley Orji Felix Haas Ruben Hassid Reuven Cohen Ioana Teleanu Code Like A Girl Karen Smiley Karo Zieminski Rikke Friis Dam Rikki Teeters ✨
Thank you for reading, and happy holidays.
